The video of Jamai singing to Beyonce in concert has finally reached 100,000+ views on YouTube thanks to #TeamJamai. Back in 2009, Jamai went to see one of his musical idols, Beyonce, live in concert. At the end of “Say My Name” she literally skipped across the stage and put the microphone right in Jamai’s face! (Thank God he had a friend with him who was recording.)
With the mic in his face, he finished the song for her with his signature riffs and runs. Obliviously Beyonce wanted more, so she put the mic back in his face a second time, and he let her have it! This is when Jamai must have blown her away because the face she made was priceless.
Actually, I don’t know which was more priceless, him saying “What?” or her facial expressions? Either way, it’s fair to say that Beyonce was definitely impressed. This will be a moment that Jamai and #TeamJamai will remember forever.
If you haven’t seen the video before make sure you check it out!
Also, make sure you check out Jamai’s latest cover song, Trey Songz “Heart Attack”.
As promised, Jamai delivered another flawless performance for #TeamJamai and others, who I’m sure he won over as fans after his set, at Café LeMont’s “Take It To The Stage” event on 4/20 in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Café LeMont is known for its delicious buffet dinner, which only costs $7.99 per person, but on that day it was Jamai who served as the venue’s main course! His five-song performance included two original songs, “Dead Roses” and “Earthquake” and three covers of songs that inspire him.
Those three songs are “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Words To Say”, made famous by Elton John, which is a song that Jamai loves and wanted to perform for years but never had the opportunity. Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain” is another song he performed for the first time, although he has done a cover of it on YouTube (see the video below). And finally, he performed “Love On Top” by Beyonce, a person that inspires him to do what he loves to do every day.

In the pictures below you can see that #TeamJamai was in full effect at Café LeMont’s “Take It To The Stage”, supporting their beloved Jamai. The crowd and the event’s promoter/owner, LeMont, loved his performance so much that he’s been asked to perform there on a regular basis! Make sure you stay tuned to see the next time he’ll be there to give another great show.
If you attended the event, leave us a comment telling us what you liked most about the show!
Tomorrow, #TeamJamai will be in full effect once again to support Jamai as he commands the stage for another intimate performance. On April 20, 2012 Jamai will perform a small-set of his songs, including his latest single, “Dead Roses” at Café LeMont’s “Take It To The Stage” event. The show starts at 7 pm, so there’s plenty of time to make arrangements to be in the building!
The venue is a soul food buffet restaurant and dinners are only $12.99 per person, and admission is FREE. Also, it’s a B.Y.O.B. event, so you already know what that means! Café LeMont is located at 717 Church Lane in Yeadon, Pennsylvania 19050.
If you haven’t already, make sure you purchase your #TeamJamai attire to wear at his performances to show him that you guys indeed support him and his artistry!

This past weekend, Jamai performed a 16 song set of classic oldies and original material at The Venue in Philadelphia. “A Night of Oldies With Jamai” was a huge success, as #TeamJamai was in the building and in full effect!
Proving himself as an all-around entertainer, Jamai went from dancing to upbeat songs like Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin Somethin” and Frankie Beverly’s “Before I Let Go” to pouring his heart out in ballads such as James Brown’s “Man’s World” and Luther Vandross’ “Going in Cirlces”.The night would not have been complete without a performance of his original song and current single, “Dead Roses”.
Overall, the show had all the ingredients of an amazing performance! Jamai definitely delivered and gave #TeamJamai what they came to see, except for that minor wardrobe malfunction (lol), which Jamai handled as professional as possible! But seriously, the show was amazing. Take a look below at a few of the performances.
Jamai Performs Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin Somethin”
Jamai Performs Earth, Wind, & Fire’s “Would You Mind”
Jamai Performs Frankie Beverly’s “Before I Let Go”
Watch the video below to see a special shout out from Legendary Soul Singer, Will Downing, to our very own Jamai! Will Downing has established himself as one of the most consistent, soulful singers of his era and arguably, with the unfortunate death of Luther Vandross, as today’s leading provider of romantic, soulful music. Jamai feels beyond honored to receive such kind words of encouragement from someone he looks up to and is inspired by. Today is a day that will always be remembered by him and all of the #TeamJamai supporters!
Joseph Kony is the world’s worst war criminal. In 1987 he took over leadership of an existing rebel group and renamed it the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
The LRA has earned a reputation for its cruel and brutal tactics. When Joseph Kony found himself running out of fighters, he started abducting children to be soldiers in his army or “wives” for his officers. The LRA is encouraged to rape, mutilate, and kill civilians–often with blunt weapons.
The LRA is no longer active in northern Uganda (where it originated) but it continues its campaign of violence in Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, and South Sudan. In its 26-year history, the LRA has abducted more than 30,000 children and displaced at least 2.1 million people.
What is the goal of KONY 2012?
Invisible Children has been working for 9 years to end Africa’s longest-running armed conflict. U.S. military advisers are currently deployed in Central Africa on a “time-limited” mission to stop Kony and disarm the LRA. If Kony isn’t captured this year, the window will be gone.
We are taking action to ensure these two things:
1) That Joseph Kony is known as the World’s Worst War Criminal.
2) That the U.S. military advisers support the Ugandan Army until Kony has been captured and the LRA has been completely disarmed. They need to follow through all the way and finish what they have started.
Why are we making Joseph Kony “famous”?
Invisible Children’s KONY 2012 campaign aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. In this case, notoriety translates to public support. If people know about the crimes that Kony has been committing for 26 years, they will unite to stop him.
Secondly, we want Kony to be famous so that when he is stopped, he will be a visible, concrete example of international justice. Then other war criminals will know that their mass atrocities will not go unnoticed or unpunished.
